Day 3 Bay Area Recap: Taking trash to the bank!

On day 3 of the Bay Area Mobilizations, community members started the day by protesting at a foreclosure auction, the symbolic site of the attack on the American Dream.  The crowds continued to increase for the final action (see video) before tomorrow’s mobilization.

They cleaned up a foreclosure home in East Oakland at 7914 Hillside. They then picked up 15 bags with garbage and took it directly to JPMorgan Chase and Citibank in the Fruitvale district in Oakland. They demanded the banks to send a letter to the headquarters and left the trash bags at their doorsteps to symbolically show the blight that they are bringing to the community through foreclosures.

Tomorrow will be the final day of the bay area mobilization.  We'll be marching downtown at 3pm at 555 California Ave, so sign up and be a part of it.  Next week the actions continue in LA!
